Colleyville Center
The program will be given by Carol Bice, AIFD, AAF, FAM about “Her Amazing Career as a Renowned Floral Designer”
Carol Bice married a man that owned a greenhouse, nursery and flower shop and began working in the flower shop after she attended a design show. She became addicted to the industry and was soon attending design schools and studying with the best floral artists in the world.
She became a designer to many florists, teaching all over the country which led to an amazing career. Along the way she earned several degrees from the American Institute of Floral Design (AFID), American Academy of Floriculture (AAF), Floral Academy of Missouri (FAM).
Because of her credentials, she had opportunities to meet many celebrities and famous people. She worked on the design team for three Presidential Inaugurations. She was also hired by the Olympic Committee to cater to all the heads of state at the Atlanta Olympics and create the floral arrangements for all the parties. She received the first ever National Florist of the Year Award and the Business Woman of the Year Award for her region. She also became President of the Missouri State Florist Association.
After she and her husband sold their six shops and retired, she designed several showrooms at the Dallas World Trade Center, which was one of her favorite jobs. There was no budget to worry about! Now she plays bridge several times a month and is a Lifetime Bridge Master.
Carol hopes to bring you some of the lighter sides of her career by telling you about things that happened and the people she worked with or met.
